Job Summary
The Sr. Transportation Coordinator is responsible for coordinating transportation for the rental equipment and negotiating rates with outside vendors.
Responsibilities- Schedule transportation of equipment for all Rental locations in determining whether or not to use internal drivers and/or outside hauling when necessary to ensure equipment is delivered as expected.
- Track, communicate and help control Rental Services costs for transportation.
- Communicate with customers regarding the location of shipments and any late arrivals.
- Schedule transfers between Missouri, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Upper Peninsula Michigan for Rental & Used departments.
- Research, evaluate, negotiate and determine the proper outside haulers to fill transportation needs.
- Assist in the negotiation of new contracts with dedicated fleet companies.
- Develop and assist Leadership Team to mold behaviors of Coordinators and Sales Team to maximize freight recovery.
- Develop, improve and implement processes to help freight recovery numbers.
- Develop and implement efficiencies while driving down overall transportation costs.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree required.
- Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3+ years in a similar role/capacity and industry required.
- Heavy equipment and the rental business experience preferred.
- Lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and the rental business.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work outside normal business hours.
