CDL A Driver II
The CDL A Driver II is responsible for transporting non hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and customer sites, primarily operating walking floor trailers on a dedicated lane from Milwaukee to Indianapolis. This role is home daily and offers schedule flexibility, allowing drivers to adjust start times to avoid Chicago traffic. All potential applicants must be legally able to operate manual transmission equipment, automatic restriction licenses cannot be accommodated.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor trailer equipment to transport materials on a dedicated Milwaukee to Indianapolis lane while meeting scheduled delivery requirements
- Operate walking floor trailers, with potential for limited tanker work depending on business needs
- Perform pre trip and post trip inspections of vehicle and equipment to ensure safe operation
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and HOS requirements
- Complete all required administrative paperwork including logs, delivery documentation, and vehicle inspection reports
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, facility contacts, and other drivers regarding schedules, delays, or operational issues
- Ensure vehicles are operated safely to protect employees, customers, and the public
- Follow written and verbal directions and navigate assigned routes efficiently
- Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs
- Home daily, weather and traffic dependent
- Flexible start times to avoid peak Chicago traffic
- Drivers may start earlier or later based on personal preference and route efficiency
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum of 2 years of commercial tractor trailer driving experience
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely operate manual transmission equipment
- Walking floor trailer experience
- Tanker endorsement preferred but not required
- Long haul or regional driving experience
- Experience operating in Midwest traffic corridors
- Assigned sleeper cab Freightliner tractors
- Manual transmission
- Walking floor trailers, with potential for tanker equipment as needed
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Ability to safely access equipment and trailers as required

It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $52,200.00 - $69,400.00 USD. For hourly roles, this is the annualized salary. To calculate the hourly rate, divide by 2080.
