The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor oversees daily warehouse and logistics operations to ensure seamless workflows. Operating in a fast‑paced environment, they coordinate shipping, receiving, outbound operations, and inventory management. They act as a critical link between upper management and floor staff, balancing labor allocation with corporate targets. By monitoring key metrics and resolving operational bottlenecks, they ensure internal and external customer orders are processed accurately, safely, and on schedule.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Manage daily inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Schedule and assign tasks to warehouse personnel.
- Monitor order picking accuracy and packing standards.
- Conduct routine inventory cycle counts and audits.
- Enforce strict OSHA and company safety protocols.
- Track employee productivity and key performance metrics.
- Maintain warehouse management systems with precise data.
- Resolve delivery delays and inventory tracking discrepancies.
- Coordinate routine maintenance for materials handling equipment.
- Train staff in operational procedures and equipment.
- Stay current on all emails, projects, and expectations as directed by the DC manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least two years of progressive leadership experience within a distribution center or manufacturing warehouse setting.
- Strong transportation knowledge and advanced proficiency in warehouse management software and data analytics.
- Deep understanding of supply chain logistics and mastery of warehouse management systems software.
- Strong leadership and team‑building capabilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel data analysis.
- Ability to resolve workplace conflicts effectively.
- Sharp critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational capacity.
- Understanding of OSHA and safety regulations.
- Preferred: Minimum two years managing teams;
Proven track record of effective team leadership and operational excellence.
