WhatYou Will Do
Under general direction, you will be responsible for the service and repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low‑voltage control subsystems (lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet customer intent and JCI goals. You will ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service and repair, develop complex software programs, and provide detailed information and submittals to customers, consultants, sales and service teams, and subcontractors.
HowYou Will Do It
- Design, configure and service technically complex building control systems for customers’ facilities.
- Create flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, schedules and electrical schematics.
- Develop and test software programs necessary to operate the system per customer requirements.
- Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals, services, and installation.
- Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned jobs.
- Assist in loading and commissioning of all system and network‑level controllers.
- Validate complete system functionality, solve problems with subcontractors and other trades.
- Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software.
- Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Perform site‑specific training for owners/operators on the building control system.
- Participate in coordination and release meetings with sales and service operations, including value engineering.
- May provide work direction to Service Controls Technicians.
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum eight (8) years’ experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
- Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
- Demonstrated experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using industry protocols (e.g., LON, BACnet).
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non‑technical audience; advanced computer skills, particularly in drafting tools.
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $36–46 (Hourly rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and market data). This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted hourly range reflects the target compensation for this role; exceptional candidates with unique skills may exceed this range.
