Sustainable Cleaning Systems:
Sustainable Cleaning Systems has supported work opportunities for individuals with disabilities in Oregon for 20 years by providing janitorial, hard floor & carpet cleaning positions. We work with more than twenty government-based agencies to provide a full range of janitorial cleaning, carpet extraction, and hard floor services in over 150 facilities including general office, courts, library buildings, police departments, fire buildings, private sector customers and non-profits.

Wage$18.75 -$19.25 per hour

- Independently and with minimal supervision, the Janitor I works as a part of the janitorial crew with a lead janitor.
- They perform day-to-day cleaning and janitorial duties assigned to them and their work areas.
- Ensures quality and safety of self and others in performing assigned duties.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check allowing entry into assigned buildings
- Communication skills.
- Must be able to prioritize and accomplish work tasks ensuring quality work and maintaining a high level of customer service.

- Physical ability to bend, twist, climbs stairs, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow instructions
- Physical ability to operate various types of janitorial equipment.
Prior experience in janitorial services is not required.
Essential Job Functions- Completes assigned work in a timely manner.
- Communicates with Lead Janitor or Supervisor when problem issues arise.
- Fills in as required to ensure adequate coverage is available so that all work is accomplished.
- Ensures that all site janitorial closets are maintained in a neat and orderly manner. They are organized, and clean, all chemicals are properly labeled, and the equipment is in working condition.
- Is aware of SDS books and the information they contain.
- Follows and completes janitorial assignments and checklists for each contract to ensure the highest level of janitorial service is provided.
- Ensures that all work performed meets operational standards with emphasis placed on maintaining consistent quality.
- Attends required janitorial training, and meetings and participates on teams as assigned.
- Monitors supplies usage in order to assure cost-effectiveness.
- Ensures equipment is in working condition.
- Is aware of SDS books and the information they contain
- Fills in for other lead workers, janitors, or custodians as needed to ensure adequate coverage is available and all work is accomplished.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned.
- Performs regular daily cleaning duties to high industry standards
- Works under the supervision of a Lead Janitor with or alongside other crew members.
