Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Boat Technician role in Milwaukie, OR. Key Responsibilities:- Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on inboard and outboard engines, electrical systems, plumbing, and marine equipment.
- Inspect boats for mechanical, structural, and safety concerns, identifying needed repairs or upgrades.
- Install and service marine electronics, navigation systems, fuel systems, steering components, and related equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance including winterization, tune‑ups, oil changes, and system checks.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment in compliance with company and industry standards.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate and efficient repairs.
- Collaborate with team members and service advisors to meet project timelines and customer expectations.
- Accurately document services performed, parts used, and labor hours.
- Test boats and systems to verify proper operation after service or repair.
- Promptly report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or customer concerns to supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent; marine technician certification or related technical training preferred.
- Previous experience as a boat technician, marine mechanic, or small engine mechanic strongly preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 75+ lbs and work in various weather conditions and physical positions (kneeling, bending, standing for extended periods).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of marine systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license; boating experience is a plus.
