Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Lead Manufacturing Engineer located onsite at our Fibrebond manufacturing campus in Minden, LA. The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for process improvements for all manufacturing processes, with a focus on material efficiency, ergonomics, and product quality. You will work with production teams to identify specific improvement projects and analyze the impact on material/labor cost, product quality, and employee safety.

You will provide technical support for improvement projects from the initial research stage to implementation in production; this includes prototype building, construction, employee training, and testing the new process.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $97,000 - $143,000 a year. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What

You’ll Do
  • Drive facility capability and capacity improvement through Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and other processes to support efficiency improvement and sales growth.
  • Support and execute capital plans to support capability, capacity, and efficiency to develop new key plant processes in support of sales growth and product line expansion.
  • Provide manufacturing decision‑making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules and requirements, and estimating future requirements.
  • Work directly with production to troubleshoot and improve processes, including fabrication, assembly, measuring, and testing of manufactured products.
  • Manage activities and budgets for manufacturing and process improvement projects, including development of project management requirements and implementation documentation.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction initiatives utilizing continuous improvement framework.
  • Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics to aid in design and improvement of processes.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety responsibilities by following established EHS policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
  • Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and corrective action implementation.
  • Manage the creation of standard work and standard cycle times.
Qualifications Basic (required) Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of relevant engineering experience, working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • No immigration sponsorship or support will be considered for this position.
  • No relocation is offered. Candidates must currently reside within a 50‑mile radius of Minden, LA to be considered. Active‑Duty Military are exempt from this geographical limitation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • One year of experience creating Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and control plans.
  • One year of experience with Lean | Six Sigma projects and implementation.
Position Criteria
  • Must be able to be on the plant floor frequently and remain standing for long periods to perform testing, prototyping, machine run‑off for new equipment, and new process implementation. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures in an un‑air‑conditioned, un‑heated environment up to 70% of the time.
