Buyer & Logistics Coordinator
Location:
Minden, LA. Reports to the Director of Operations. The role is required at a DoD and PSM regulated facility supporting defense and industrial applications.
- Perform inventory counts, investigate discrepancies, and update inventory records in the inventory management system to maintain accurate on‑hand balances.
- Create and process purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and track deliveries to ensure timely material availability for production.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight scheduling, prepare documentation, and hold carriers accountable to on‑time performance.
- Monitor stock levels, flag shortages or overages, and communicate proactively to keep production running smoothly.
- Maintain audit‑ready, accurate, traceable records across inventory, purchasing, and logistics in support of compliance obligations.
- Support the team with day‑to‑day administrative tasks and keep a well‑organized, efficient workspace.
- Associate’s degree in supply chain, business, logistics, or related field with 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory, or logistics, OR 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience handling inventory in a manufacturing environment, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and maintaining high inventory accuracy, along with ERP system experience (e.g., Net Suite or SAP) to enforce transaction discipline and data integrity.
- Experience in purchasing and/or logistics, including supplier coordination, purchase order management, or inbound and outbound shipments.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify inventory discrepancies, resolve issues, and support uninterrupted production.
- Ability to manage competing priorities across operations, finance, and suppliers.
- Experience with ERP system implementation and functionality, including inventory controls and reporting.
- Familiarity with inventory control best practices on cycle count programs, audit readiness, and material traceability systems.
- Travel is minimal.
- Ability to lift, move, or carry items or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a manufacturing and warehouse environment for extended periods with exposure to varying temperatures.
- Ability to wear standard PPE and comply with site‑specific safety and regulatory requirements.
- Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over).
- Must comply with Drug‑Free Workplace Act of 1988, Executive Order 12564, applicable Department of Defense directives, and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
- Must meet U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR; U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the Department of State.
Good faith base salary range for this role is $45,000‑58,000 at the time of posting. The range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or bonus/incentive.
