The LiRo Group seeks an Environmental Scientist / Staff Engineer to support infrastructure and building projects from our Syosset, NY office. In this role, you will perform field investigations, sampling, and environmental site assessments; assist with design, permitting, and compliance for remediation and stormwater programs; and prepare technical reports and regulatory submittals. Working within multidisciplinary teams, you'll collaborate with engineers and architects, interface with contractors and agencies, and gain exposure to complex transportation and public facility projects while advancing your technical skills and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform environmental site assessments, sampling, and field investigations on construction and infrastructure projects
- Support design and permitting for remediation, stormwater, and environmental compliance programs
- Prepare technical reports, data summaries, and regulatory submittals with clear analysis and recommendations
- Assist senior engineers and scientists with environmental impact studies and design documents
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and regulators to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Monitor construction activities for environmental compliance and document findings
- Analyze environmental data using GIS and related software tools
- Contribute to development of mitigation measures and sustainability strategies on projects
- Participate in multidisciplinary project meetings and support client presentations
- Support continuous improvement of environmental procedures, standards, and best practices

- Stormwater management and SPCC/SWPPPAuto
- CAD or Civil 3
