Position Summary
Assist in location engineering activities that support design or process improvement of the business unit. Be a driving force for continuous improvement for the facility while working with all levels of the organization. Interns will be provided with training and mentorship that will translate to real-world skills and experiences. 20 – 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities- Evaluate existing processes and configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve safety and sustainability, and develop best practices within the production process
- Ensure the plant is actively engaged in Continuous Improvement activities and driving sustainable results
- Acquire knowledge of various engineering department operations, functions, responsibilities, and workflow
- Perform related responsibilities
- Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
- Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
- At minimum, an Undergraduate Engineering student entering Junior year
- Ability to work MS Office, CAD (Solid Works) experience preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently
- Blue print reading and technical report writing
- Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement
