Moog is looking for an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, analyze, and support electrical and electronic circuits, assemblies, and systems for new and existing products. You’ll create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and engineering documentation. Additionally, you’ll evaluate electrical designs for compliance with engineering principles, customer specifications, quality standards, and applicable industry regulations. This is an onsite role in Mineral Wells, Texas and reports to the Engineering Manager for Moog’s Military Aircraft Group and requires an understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Testability (DFT), and product lifecycle management principles.
Experience designing, testing, and supporting electrical or electronic systems and products in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Three years or more of electrical engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with electrical design and analysis tools, including schematic capture and PCB design software (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or similar preferred).
- Knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics design principles.
- Experience developing and validating DSP solutions on embedded processors, FPGAs, SoCs, or specialized DSP hardware.
- Familiarity with electronic component selection, circuit analysis, and signal integrity considerations.
- Understanding of RF engineering principles, including signal propagation, spectrum management, noise analysis, link budgets, and RF performance characterization.
- Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures, development, integration, and testing.
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Simulink, Python, GNU Radio, LabVIEW, or similar signal processing and analysis tools.
- Review and evaluate customer requirements and develop electrical design concepts and technical solutions to meet performance, cost, schedule, and reliability goals.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software engineers, and designers to define and implement system-level hardware requirements.
- Support PCB design activities, including component selection, circuit layout reviews, and design validation.
- Develop and execute test plans, troubleshooting procedures, and verification activities for electrical and electronic systems.
- Investigate and resolve production, manufacturing, and field issues related to electrical hardware and system performance.
- Support configuration management, engineering change requests (ECRs), and product lifecycle management processes.
- Participate in component obsolescence management and work with procurement, suppliers, and operations teams to identify replacement solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations for manufacturing processes, test equipment, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) improvements.
