About the Role:

The Nurse Practitioner PRN plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare on an as-needed basis across various clinical settings. Will fill-in at various clinic locations. This position involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic health conditions while collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. The Nurse Practitioner will provide health education, counseling, and preventive care to patients, promoting wellness and disease prevention.

Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as the role requires responding to fluctuating patient volumes and diverse clinical demands. Ultimately, the Nurse Practitioner PRN contributes to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall efficiency of healthcare delivery within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
  • Minimum one year experience working as an NP
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, or a relevant specialty.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support is required.
  • Current DEA, DOP, NPDB required.
  • Current Texas driver's license and vehicle liability insurance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a PRN or flexible scheduling role within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Strong background in patient education and chronic disease management.
  • Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within the scope of practice and monitor patient responses to treatment.
  • Provide patient education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate referrals as needed.
  • Document all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and professional standards.
  • Adapt to varying clinical environments and schedules to meet patient care needs on a PRN basis.
