Accounting and Payroll Specialist

About the Opportunity

The Parish of Saints Joachim & Anne is seeking a detail‑oriented, mission‑focused Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join our Finance and HR team. In this role, you’ll support the ministry of a large, faith‑filled community with three church campuses, Shakopee Area Catholic School (serving ~600 students), and multiple ministries that make a daily impact. You’ll be a key contributor in ensuring accurate financial processes, smooth payroll operations, and supportive human‑resource interactions with our staff.

• Manage all accounts payable for parish and school
• Oversee income and deposits (parish, school, fundraising, special events)
• Maintain accurate vendor records, W9s, and assist with year‑end 1099 processing
• Support various ministries and departments with financial reporting
• Collaborate on fundraising, tuition, and donation tracking

• Serve as the onsite expert for our payroll and time‑and‑attendance systems
• Process bi‑weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time
• Assist with onboarding and benefits enrollment
• Record payroll and benefits information in the accounting system
• Serve as a resource for staff questions with professionalism and care

• Participate in parish staff activities, meetings, and occasional events
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and a welcoming presence
• Help foster a positive, mission‑driven working environment

• Full‑time, 40 hours/week
• Monday–Friday (8:00am–4:00pm) with occasional evening/weekend needs
