Senior Accountant

We are partnering with a growing renewable‑energy organization that’s looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, improving processes, and being a subject‑matter expert within a fast‑moving, mission‑driven environment.

The Senior Accountant will take ownership of key accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting operational decision‑making. This includes managing general ledger activities, journal entries, accruals, amortization, fixed assets, AP/AR processing, and maintaining alignment with GAAP and internal policies.

You’ll also lead monthly/quarterly reconciliations, identify discrepancies, prepare corrective entries, and partner cross‑functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This position plays a critical role in strengthening the accounting infrastructure and driving continuous improvement.

• Lead general ledger activities including amortization, accruals, fixed assets, and monthly close tasks
• Prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documentation
• Review invoices, verify data accuracy, and support AP/AR workflows
• Perform complex accounting calculations and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Support corporate credit card administration, sales commissions, and inventory cycle counts
• Complete monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Provide insights through balance sheet packages and meaningful commentary
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and budget‑to‑actual reporting
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency
• Document procedures and communicate changes to internal teams
• Provide guidance and act as a subject‑matter resource for the accounting team

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Experience improving accounting processes and leveraging technology
• Proficiency with ERP, CRM, and accounting systems (experience with Salesforce, Net Suite, RF Smart, Stampli, Paystand, etc. is helpful but not required)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross‑functionally
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset
