Position Summary

The Cost Analyst is an entry level position responsible for supporting the cost accounting function within the organization. This individual is a part of a team responsible for ensuring that the company's financial statements accurately reflect the true cost of goods and services produced, including all direct and indirect costs associated with production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support maintenance of the standard costing system to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
  • Prepare month end journal entries.
  • Ensure compliance with cost accounting controls, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the accuracy and completeness of cost data.
  • Support physical inventory count process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the cost accounting function.
  • Additional ad hoc operational and business analysis as necessary.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and other financial software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and standards.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
