Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a reputable healthcare nonprofit organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to corporate accounting and financial operations while working in a hybrid environment with flexibility to work remotely several days a week. Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

- Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with accounting principles.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify balances and resolve discrepancies.

- Complete bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking.

- Collaborate with team members on financial analysis specific to the healthcare sector.

- Assist in maintaining compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and practices.

- Provide insights into financial data to support organizational decision-making.

- Contribute to process improvements within the accounting department to enhance efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level capacity.

- Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

- Proficiency in preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.

- Familiarity with bank reconciliations and cash flow management.

- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards is advantageous but not required.

- Experience in healthcare analytics or financial operations is a plus.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
