Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
Location: Minneapolis, MN (This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence in MN daily – only local residents of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin will be eligible for consideration)
Compensation: $38-$45/hr
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for an assignment to support the accounting team during a leave. This role will focus heavily on general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close activities within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate brings strong GAAP knowledge, strong ERP experience, and the ability to independently manage close responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and complete month-end close activities
- Analyze general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements
- Ensure accurate recording of assigned general ledger accounts
- Apply GAAP standards and proper accounting treatment to business transactions
- Support audit and compliance reporting requirements
- Generate reporting related to close activities and GL analysis
- 3–5+ years of experience as a Staff/Senior Accountant
- Strong general ledger and month-end close experience
- Healthcare or hospital industry experience preferred
- Proficiency in large ERP systems and Excel
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
