Accounting Specialist

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Bloomington, Minnesota. This role involves handling essential accounting tasks such as account reconciliation, payment tracking, and ensuring financial accuracy. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a keen eye for detail to maintain the integrity of financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Reconcile accounts to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.

- Verify payment applications and track accounts to ensure accuracy.

- Manage balance sheets and perform detailed reconciliations.

- Assist in handling accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Utilize enterprise software and Excel to analyze and maintain financial data.

- Conduct financial reconciliations, including bank and credit card accounts.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and best practices.

- Monitor financial records to identify and address discrepancies.

- Collaborate with team members to support the loan servicing group and related accounting functions. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and financial records.

- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

- Basic Excel skills, with the ability to analyze data effectively.

- Experience with enterprise accounting software is preferred.

- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
