A well‑established, privately held organization in Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. • Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries and ensure the accuracy of general ledger activity
• Apply GAAP to complex accounting matters, including capitalization vs. expensing, inventory valuation, and other technical areas
• Lead and manage lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, remeasurements, and terminations
• Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations and financial reporting
• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Prepare or support monthly financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Provide oversight and backup support for daily and monthly cash‑related activities
• Lead key components of month‑end and year‑end close
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts and GL accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards

• Bachelor’s degree required;
  Accounting, Finance, or related major preferred
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
