Senior Accountant
A well‑established, privately held organization in Minneapolis is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who enjoys complex accounting, full‑cycle financial work, and contributing to an environment where accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement are valued.
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in month‑end close, technical accounting areas, lease accounting, and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow within a stable organization that invests in its people.

- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries and ensure the accuracy of general ledger activity
- Apply GAAP to complex accounting matters, including capitalization vs. expensing, inventory valuation, and other technical areas
- Lead and manage lease accounting under ASC 842, including new leases, modifications, remeasurements, and terminations
- Identify and implement process improvements in accounting operations and financial reporting
- Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare or support monthly financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow
- Provide oversight and backup support for daily and monthly cash‑related activities
- Lead key components of month‑end and year‑end close
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank accounts and GL accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Accounting, Finance, or related major preferred - 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA or progress toward CPA strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
