We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing organization within the manufacturing/distribution space.
This role offers clear visibility and a defined path to Controller
, making it ideal for someone looking to step into leadership in the near term.
This individual will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, driving process improvements, and partnering with leadership on financial strategy.
Responsibilities- Lead month-end and year-end close
, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting - Maintain and improve general ledger accuracy and internal controls
- Prepare monthly financial statements and provide variance analysis to leadership
- Oversee key accounting areas such as AR/AP, inventory, and cost accounting
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Partner with operations to drive cost visibility and efficiency across the business
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure GAAP compliance
- Identify and implement process improvements and scalable accounting practices
- Serve as a trusted partner to leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- 5+ years within manufacturing or distribution environments (required)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with inventory and/or cost accounting strongly preferred
- Proven ability to operate both hands-on and strategically in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience working closely with leadership or owning full-cycle accounting
- ERP system experience and strong Excel skills
