Job DescriptionOur client is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their growing accounting team in St. Paul, MN. This role is best suited for someone with strong organizational skills, a solid foundation in accounting processes, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This position will focus primarily on supporting deduction management and general accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable support, and reconciliation processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with multiple systems, and able to collaborate effectively across departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Process and manage customer deductions across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution
- Support general accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Research, track, and resolve deduction discrepancies in partnership with internal teams
- Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to support issue resolution and maintain accurate records
- Assist in reconciliation activities and transactional accounting support as needed
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of a deduction management system (TELUS Enterprise)
- Maintain detailed documentation of deduction activity and account research
- Assist with data entry and reporting within multiple ERP systems
- 1–3+ years of accounting, AP/AR, or transactional accounting experience preferred (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable working with multiple systems and learning new technology quickly (D365 Business Central, JDE, MS NAV a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and strong sense of accountability
