Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a dependable Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role is ideal for someone who works well independently, maintains accurate financial records, and brings a hands-on approach to daily accounting activities. The position will contribute to close cycles, reconciliations, and selected payables and receivables tasks while helping ensure timely and reliable financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Manage recurring close activities across month-end, quarter-end, and year-end periods to help keep financial reporting on schedule.

- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and general ledger balances while researching and correcting variances.

- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger to support accurate accounting records.

- Process low-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.

- Monitor financial data for completeness and consistency, taking action to resolve discrepancies as they arise.

- Partner with leadership and external contacts as needed to support reporting needs and clarify accounting information.

- Maintain organized documentation and supporting records for reconciliations, entries, and routine accounting transactions.
