Position Summary

FRSecure is seeking a process‑driven, analytical, and collaborative Accountant to play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of our financial operations. This role goes beyond transactional accounting, serving as a trusted partner across the business to analyze financial data, identify opportunities for process improvement, and support informed decision‑making. We look for an individual with a strong sense of ownership, the ability to navigate competing priorities, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work in a dynamic environment.

You will be responsible for assisting with core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial analysis, and end‑to‑end payroll processing for a geographically dispersed workforce. You will also work to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliant payroll operations, and continuous process improvement across accounting and payroll functions.

Working Location

This position is available on a full‑time hybrid basis in Edina, MN. Only candidates located in the United States will be considered. The Accountant will work in the office 2 days a week for mail and banking duties, and 3 days remotely.

What Your Day Looks Like As An Accountant
  • Perform month‑end processing, journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Manage state sales and income tax liabilities and registrations
  • Perform a daily check of bank accounts and make AR entries in Certinia for ACH payments
  • Process full‑cycle, multi‑state payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate calculation and timely payment of wages, taxes, deductions, and benefits
  • Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
  • Manage payroll entries and related reporting
  • Handle state and local payroll tax compliance for a multi‑state workforce
  • Stay current on state‑specific laws and regulations affecting payroll and accounting
  • Make regular bank deposits
  • Scan all incoming mail for distribution to recipients
  • Enter AP invoices into Certinia and pay vendor invoices; collect tax  any new vendors
  • Check recording of corporate card transactions and analyze all expense accounts for accuracy
  • Track prepaid expenses that are entered to general ledger account and expensed monthly
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions, proper implementation of compensation adjustments, and preparing data for applicable audits
Working Hours

This is a full‑time position, worked Monday‑Friday each week, with the expectation that the responsibilities can be completed in 40 hours each week. Primary business hours are Monday‑Friday, 8:00am‑5:00pm Central Time. The role permits limited flexibility in work scheduling, provided employees maintain a regular daily presence during designated business hours and meet all deadlines and meeting requirements.

There is no defined travel associated with this position, outside of any team or company engagement activities.

Requirements What You Bring to the Accountant role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3‑5 years of progressive experience maintaining general ledgers, batch posting, accounts payable and financial analysis
  • Hands‑on experience processing multi‑state payroll for distributed workforce
  • Experience partnering with Human Resources on payroll and compliance matters strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and solid understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Working knowledge of state payroll tax laws, compliance requirements, and reporting obligations
  • Familiarity with process optimization, automation, or system implementations
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and implement effective solutions, while proactively anticipating potential challenges
