A private equity-backed industrial manufacturing company is seeking a Corporate Controller to join its finance leadership team. The organization operates multiple manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and serves a diversified customer base within industrial, transportation, engineered products, and other specialized end markets.
The business has experienced significant growth through both acquisitions and operational expansion and continues to invest heavily in strengthening its finance organization, integrating newly acquired businesses, and building scalable financial processes. This role offers broad exposure to executive leadership, strategic initiatives, operational finance, and future acquisition activity.
Position OverviewReporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will oversee the accounting organization while helping establish scalable financial processes across a growing multi-entity business. The position combines traditional controllership responsibilities with operational finance, acquisition integration, financial systems improvements, and executive partnership.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead all corporate accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
- Direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities while ensuring accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance procedures across multiple operating entities.
- Partner with operations to support inventory accounting, standard costing, manufacturing analytics, and operational performance reporting.
- Oversee manufacturing cost analysis including inventory valuation, production variances, labor efficiency, overhead allocation, and work-in-process accounting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, debt compliance, covenant reporting, and executive financial analysis.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax compliance, and relationships with external advisors.
- Lead accounting integration efforts for newly acquired businesses while helping standardize financial processes across locations.
- Drive ERP optimization, reporting enhancements, automation initiatives, and continuous process improvements.
- Develop KPI reporting and dashboards that improve visibility into profitability, inventory, working capital, production performance, and cash flow.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-location accounting team while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience within manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting
- Experience supporting private equity-backed organizations preferred
- Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams across multiple entities or locations
- Ability to improve processes, implement controls, and support business growth
- ERP experience with the ability to learn and optimize new systems
