Salary Range: $72,800– $104,000

About the Opportunity – Cost Accountant
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to support financial reporting, inventory control, and cost analysis initiatives. This role partners closely with finance leadership and plant operations to improve cost visibility, optimize processes, and drive strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities – Cost Accountant
- Support month-end close processes, including inventory balancing, transfer entries, and variance analysis
- Analyze gross profit margins and report insights to finance and operations teams
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants on cycle counts, labor/overhead rates, BOMs, and routing accuracy
- Evaluate manufacturing costs, labor absorption, and identify opportunities for operational improvement
- Assist in calculating and maintaining work center rates
- Review completed shop orders and investigate significant cost variances
- Execute annual cost roll processes and perform change analysis as needed
- Develop and track OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) metrics using the ERP system
- Contribute to budgeting processes and cost standard development
- Participate in ERP-related initiatives and continuous improvement projects
Qualifications – Cost Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and cost analysis experience
- Proven cost accounting experience (required)
- Manufacturing industry experience (preferred)
- ERP system experience, including implementations (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of Quick Books and ERP platforms
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines
