Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead financial operations for a mission-driven organization. This role will oversee accounting practices, financial planning, reporting, and compliance while supporting sound decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong nonprofit finance expertise, hands-on knowledge of grant-related accounting, and the leadership ability to strengthen internal controls and financial processes.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.

- At least 7 years of combined accounting and finance experience, including progressive leadership responsibility.

- Prior experience in the nonprofit sector with direct exposure to government grant accounting.

- Demonstrated success serving in a senior financial leadership role such as Controller, Finance Director, or a comparable position.

- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting principles.

- Experience preparing financial statements, executive-level reports, and presentation materials.

- Proven ability to oversee general ledger activity, reporting structures, and accounting controls.

- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office 365, supported by strong organizational and administrative skills.
