Position Summary
Assists with performing general accounting processes to ensure accurate and timely accounting close cycles and the development of subsequent internal and external financial statements and reports, including entries, analysis and reconciliation of accounting ledgers and other accounts and preparation of inter‑company billings, property valuations, required regulatory reporting forms and tax filings.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist with collecting and analyzing financial data for reconciliation, variance reporting, ledger entry preparation, internal and external reporting, inter‑company receivables/payables settlement and property valuations.
- Identify and resolve data issues and recommend solutions to mitigate financial impact.
- Participate in and support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end accounting close cycles and the development of financial statements.
- Provide timely and accurate assistance to clients within the supported business area, including explanations of account codes, financial reports, project status reports and accounting policy guidance.
- Prepare presentations, statistical reports, schedules and other operating results information for management and outside parties.
- Actively participate in or support special projects such as system upgrade testing, rate‑case support and adhoc reports or process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of local, state, federal rules and regulations and internal and external reporting requirements.
- Apply professional concepts, procedures and company policies to resolve commonly occurring issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related business field, or equivalent education, training and experience.
- Completion of an accounting internship preferred.
- Desire to obtain CPA or CMA certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to learn and apply GAAP.
- Strong customer‑service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience with SAP.
The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $58,700.00 to $79,767.00 per year.
