Senior Corporate Accountant

About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing property management organization, is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their corporate accounting team. This role owns core general ledger and financial reporting functions at the corporate level, partnering closely with property accounting, FP&A, and senior leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across a growing real estate portfolio.

• Track and reconcile work-in-progress (WIP) schedules for capital improvement and development projects, ensuring costs are properly capitalized or expensed
• Review WIP balances monthly with project managers/construction teams to confirm accuracy of percentage-of-completion and identify projects ready for close-out and transfer to fixed assets
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process for corporate entities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Oversee intercompany accounting and eliminations across multiple entities/properties
• Support cash management, including bank reconciliations and treasury reporting
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting packages for ownership/leadership
• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure tracking
• Ensure compliance with lender, investor, and partnership reporting requirements
• Support external audit, tax preparation, and any regulatory filings
• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and close efficiency
