the Team

The Staff Accountant will form a critical role on our Finance team reporting to the Sr. Director, Accounting. The Finance team is responsible for finance operations and accounting including billing, accounts payable, maintaining the general ledger and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant will liaise with other members of the Finance team as well as internal stakeholders. We are looking for someone who can step in and quickly get up to speed.

About the Position Solifi is looking for a Staff Accountant for this fast-growing financial software company. The Staff Accountant will assist in core financial operations and cross-functional business tasks, including accounts payable, payroll support, billing, and various reconciliations. This role offers broad exposure to company operations by bridging day-to-day financial transactions with high-level reporting. We are looking for an exceptionally smart and ambitious candidate looking to prove their worth in a fast-paced, dynamic software company.

and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the payroll process, including processing payroll, verifying payroll data, and ensuring accurate and timely payment of employees.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll, including tax withholding, benefits, and payroll deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain employee payroll records
  • Assist with the end-to-end operations of accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment runs, and expense report management.
  • Ensure all payments are processed accurately, in a timely manner, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute renewal billing process, including ensuring accurate price increases, subscription basis, and timely invoice delivery for all subscription entitlements via digital distribution methods
  • Identify specialized billing for customers and configure appropriate billing terms
  • Review executed order forms, contracts and statements of work to ensure accuracy of billing
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
About You Required
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field required
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Basic understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and fundamental financial principles
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret executed contracts, order forms and statements of work
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, work under pressure, meet deadlines, and reliably work independently
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Flexible with a positive attitude and team oriented
Preferrred
  • Knowledge of a cloud-based ERP and billing systems (i.e. Sales Force and Oracle Net Suite)
  • Experience with the reporting and accounting for foreign operations, ideally within the software industry
Travel Expectations
  • This position will be fully remote with the occasional travel to our Corporate office in Minneapolis
