Location: Minneapolis, MN (only local candidates in MN will be considered. Weekly onsite presence required. Possible hybrid schedule after training)
Compensation: $75,000 - $87,000 dependent on applicable experience
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday
Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k)
This role is ideal for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. Experience supporting union and certified payroll is highly preferred, as this individual will assist with payroll processing, union reporting, prevailing wage requirements, and related compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Process and support payroll for a multi-state employee population
- Support union payroll processing
, including union-specific wages, deductions, benefits, dues, and other requirements - Prepare and maintain certified payroll reports in accordance with prevailing wage requirements
- Assist with tracking and validating employee classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, and hours worked for certified payroll
- Support union reporting and remittances and ensure information is submitted accurately and on time
- Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
- Research payroll, union, and certified payroll discrepancies and make necessary adjustments
- Maintain payroll records and documentation to support payroll compliance and audits
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, union, and prevailing wage requirements
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and assist with resolving payroll-related questions
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and audits
- Partner with HR, Finance, and internal teams on payroll-related processes.
Qualifications:
- Previous payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment
- Experience with union and/or certified payroll strongly preferred
- Familiarity with prevailing wage requirements and union reporting is a plus
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to research discrepancies and work with detailed payroll and employee information
