Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a team in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity offering a part-time schedule of 10 hours per week and is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable handling payment and invoice activity. The person in this role will help maintain accurate records, process transactions efficiently, and contribute to smooth accounts workflow.

Responsibilities:

- Manage outgoing payment activity and maintain organized records for financial transactions.

- Review invoices for accuracy, assign the appropriate accounting codes, and prepare items for processing.

- Enter and update invoice details in accounting systems with close attention to completeness and correctness.

- Coordinate Automated Clearing House payments and support electronic disbursement activities.

- Assist with check run preparation, including verifying documentation and payment amounts.

- Monitor account activity, identify discrepancies, and follow up to resolve routine payment or coding issues.

- Support general accounts operations by keeping documentation current and ensuring files are audit-ready. Requirements - Experience working in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar accounting support function.

- Practical knowledge of invoice review, account coding, and transaction entry.

- Familiarity with ACH processing and check run procedures.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in repetitive financial tasks.

- Comfort using accounting or financial systems to track invoices and payments.

- Ability to work independently in a part-time role and manage priorities effectively.

- Clear communication skills for coordinating with internal stakeholders on transaction-related questions.
