About the Role:
We are seeking qualified contractors to fulfill the role of Payroll Processor. In this role, you will support U.S. payroll operations by processing payroll transactions, validating employee data, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and resolving payroll-related inquiries. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and experience working within complex payroll environments where accuracy and confidentiality are critical.
This opportunity is open to individuals located in the Minneapolis, MN area and surrounding communities. The role requires reliable internet access and the ability to manage responsibilities in a hybrid work environment. Contractors may be required to work rotational shifts based on business needs.
Contractors will be engaged and paid by a third-party payroll supplier, BCforward, which will serve as the employer of record for tax and compliance purposes.
Key Responsibilities:Core Duties:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly U.S. payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Validate employee timekeeping, attendance, earnings, deductions, and garnishments.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, employee inquiries, and payroll exceptions.
- Maintain payroll records while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Timely and accurate payroll processing for assigned employee populations.
- Compliance with payroll tax, wage, garnishment, and statutory requirements.
- Payroll reconciliation, reporting, and audit-ready documentation.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and payroll record maintenance.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Workday Payroll
- Payroll reporting and workforce management systems
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing or related payroll operations.
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with Workday Payroll.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, wage calculations, deductions, and payroll compliance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information.
- Experience supporting high-volume payroll environments.
- Proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within complex enterprise payroll operations.
This is a contractor role administered through a third-party payroll supplier. The supplier will determine compensation, benefits, and applicable employment policies. The contractor will not be eligible for employee benefits from Accenture.
The supplier will ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws including ADA, FMLA, and local ordinances.
Contractors must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for work authorization in the United States.
Individuals currently employed by a client of Accenture or an affiliated Accenture business may not be eligible for consideration.
