We're partnering with a large, highly respected local employer that is looking to add a Property Tax Lead to its tax organization. This role is primarily focused on property tax, with some additional sales/use tax support, and offers the opportunity to work on complex tax matters within a large, asset-intensive organization.
The ideal candidate will have significant property tax experience, ideally within a corporate, utility, energy, manufacturing, public accounting, or other asset-intensive environment. Experience with sales/use tax, tax research, audits, and working with taxing authorities is also valuable.

- Manage and support property tax compliance and reporting activities
- Research and interpret property tax laws, regulations, and requirements
- Analyze property tax assessments and identify potential issues or opportunities
- Support property tax audits, appeals, and interactions with taxing authorities
- Prepare and/or review property tax calculations, accruals, and related financial information
- Partner with internal finance, accounting, operations, and other business teams on property tax matters
- Provide technical guidance regarding property tax requirements and their application to the business
- Support sales and use tax matters as needed
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and help implement necessary changes
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, reporting, systems, and compliance
- Provide guidance and day-to-day leadership to tax analysts and other team members
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
- 7+ years of relevant property tax and/or sales/use tax experience
- Strong preference for candidates with property tax experience
- Strong understanding of property tax laws, regulations, assessments, and compliance
- Experience working with taxing authorities and/or supporting tax audits
- Strong analytical, research, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional business and finance teams
- Experience providing guidance or leadership to other tax professionals is a plus
- Utility, energy, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industry experience is preferred
- Public accounting, SALT, CPA/CMA/CFA, or other relevant tax/accounting experience is a plus
- Experience with tax systems, data analytics, or process improvement is a plus
- $95,000–$117,000 base salary
