JOB TITLE:
Student Access Services Assistant
LOCATION:
Minneapolis
PAY RATE: 16.50
HOURS:
We are looking for students who can work any of the specified days and times listed below. For example, it could be 8:00am to 10am, 11am to 1pm, or 8:00am to 1pm, etc. You don't have to work on all those days and the full range of hours listed.
* Mondays: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
* Tuesdays: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
* Wednesdays: 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
* Fridays: 8:00 am to 11:30 am
JOB SUMMARY:
The Charles J. Keffer Library on the Minneapolis campus is looking for Student Access Services Assistants for the Spring 2026 semester.
Essential Functions:
As a Keffer Library Access Services Student Assistant, you would perform the following tasks:
* Circulate incoming and outgoing library material
* Provide excellent customer service, including patron support and directional assistance
* Answer incoming phone calls to triage and respond to circulation-related emails
* Troubleshoot technical issues related to AV and equipment use
* Provide basic reference and research assistance
* Assist staff by pulling and processing books for the courier
* Perform library walk-throughs and record visitor counts
* Perform information searches using the library's websites
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
* Basic to strong computer skills
* Strong interpersonal skills and customer service focus
* Ability to work on several projects simultaneously while balancing priorities and meeting deadlines
* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Detail-oriented focus
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Ability to follow directions and ask for clarification as needed
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
