Summary/Purpose

The Testing Coordinator supports Summit Academy OIC’s student success and enrollment processes by coordinating and administering all entrance and academic testing activities. This role ensures testing services meet the needs of our students, enables organizational productivity through accurate, timely, and well‑managed testing operations, and aligns daily work with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The Testing Coordinator provides a welcoming, complaint, and student‑centered testing experience that supports informed placement, enrollment, and academic decision‑making.

Testing & Student Support
  • Schedule, administer, and proctor Summit Academy OIC entrance and academic assessments, including Accuplacer, Accuplacer ATB, and TABE.
  • Provide clear instructions and support to students before, during, and after testing to ensure a positive and accessible testing experience.
  • Communicate testing procedures, expectations, and results to prospective and current students in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Evaluate and review testing results to support placement decisions, referrals for academic support, and recommendations for enrollment pathways.
Data, Reporting & Systems
  • Accurately enter testing data and results into all required databases and student information systems (including School Docs/CNS) in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain tracking systems for scheduled candidates, completed tests, test results, and rescheduled appointments.
  • Generate testing‑related reports and provide data to staff and leadership to support admissions, student services, and program planning.
Operations & Coordination
  • Prepare, count, sort, distribute, and order testing materials to ensure adequate inventory and readiness for all testing sessions.
  • Process and maintain all required testing paperwork and documentation.
  • Train and support backup testing coordinators and proctors to ensure continuity of services.
Compliance, Integrity & Security
  • Maintain the integrity, confidentiality, and security of the testing center and all testing materials.
  • Uphold all testing standards and vendor requirements to ensure validity, fairness, and accuracy of results.
  • Ensure testing procedures comply with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Work collaboratively with admissions, student services, instructors, and leadership to support student placement, enrollment, and retention efforts.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to testing operations, student experience, and data accuracy.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of assessment practices and issues and trends in Adult Basic Education and GED preparation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create, maintain, and improve operational processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Positive, student‑centered, and motivational approach to service.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using office and educational software, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and testing platforms.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse adult student population in a non‑traditional learning environment.
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, high‑quality work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no direct reports.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office, school, and computer lab/testing center environment. The role routinely uses standard office and testing equipment, including computers, testing software, printers, scanners, phones, photocopiers, and secure testing materials.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Sit and stand for extended periods while proctoring and observing testing sessions.
  • Walk within the testing center and computer lab to monitor students and maintain testing integrity.
