ScheduleThis is a temporary, part-time position that will work 30 hours per week (Monday – Wednesday 8 hours, Thursday 6 hours). The position is expected to be 6 months long in duration.
Job SummaryCOPAL is hiring an Administrative Assistant Intern to support COPAL’s Worker Center team and join the effort towards building a Minnesota Latinx economic power through supporting community members that are seeking services. The Intern will focus on supporting data collection responsibilities and distributing clear and accurate information to the community.
Responsibilities- Help front desk and office operations run smoothly.
- Support scheduling needs, room coordination, and administrative logistics.
- Ensure that administrative duties (filing, scanning, correspondence, supplies) are completed on time and with attention to detail.
- Organize and maintain front desk systems and procedures so they are consistent and easy to follow.
- Make sure community members feel welcomed, respected, and supported in all front desk interactions.
- Respond promptly to calls, emails, and walk-ins.
- Prioritize language access, accessibility, and cultural competency in interactions to reduce barriers.
- Ensure intake, sign-in, and service data are collected accurately and consistently.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information ethically and with discretion.
- Participate in fundraising as appropriate to the role, including site visits with funders and phone banking to increase membership/donor support.
- Collect accurate data that helps identify trends and opportunities to expand services and support overall community prosperity.
- Bilingual proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
- Previous experience initiating conversations with community members about their stories, hopes, fears, and challenges, and a willingness to be bold in conversations with strangers and volunteers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and willingness to learn.
$19.00 per hour
- Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST)
