Job Overview

At Eisner Amper, we are looking for a Tax Support Specialist to join our Minneapolis Private Client Services team. The role provides high‑level administrative, operational, and client service support to the Tax Lead and requires working in the Minneapolis office at least three days per week.

Location and Work Arrangement

Minneapolis, hybrid – at least three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated administrative, operational, and client service support to the Tax Lead for the Minneapolis office.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients, client support teams, internal team members, and other stakeholders on behalf of the partner.
  • Manage the partner’s calendar, including coordinating meetings with clients, internal staff, and firm leadership.
  • Support new client onboarding activities to help ensure a smooth and professional client experience.
  • Manage and track engagement letters and related workflow activity, including follow‑up with the partner, clients, and internal teams as needed.
  • Coordinate tax return delivery processes, including final delivery, tracking signed Forms 8879, and monitoring outstanding client items.
  • Assist with invoicing and accounts receivable follow‑up, escalating items to the partner when appropriate.
  • Track client project deadlines, tax return deliverables, and key follow‑up items to help ensure work moves forward efficiently.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with clients and internal teams regarding deadlines, documentation, deliverables, and next steps.
  • Build strong working relationships with the client service team, local office colleagues, and other Support Specialists across the firm.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflow, communication, and use of internal systems.
  • Assist with ad hoc reports, office initiatives, events, and special projects as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment when handling client, partner, and firm information.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional administrative, client service, or operational support experience in a public accounting firm or a comparable professional services environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and other business technology tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive client and firm information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional administrative, client service, or operational support experience, ideally within a public accounting firm.
  • Familiarity with tax engagement workflows, client deadlines, engagement letters, billing, accounts receivable, and tax return delivery processes.
  • Experience supporting partners, executives, or other client‑facing leaders.
  • Experience serving as a point of contact for clients, client support teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, discretion, and client service mindset.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and work independently in a deadline‑driven environment.

Compensation

For Minnesota candidates, the expected salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $80,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
