About the Job
Provide administrative support at Marathon Health centers. Responsible for front office including reception and general departmental support. Answer calls and greet visitors, assist with appointments and maintain calendars, create professional correspondence and documents, process mail and packages, maintain supplies, collect and reconcile payments.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Answer incoming calls on general office phone, validate member status, respond to emails or other electronic messages, and answer questions and refer questions to medical staff as needed.
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone.
- Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; and reminding provider of service delays.
- Comfort patients by anticipating anxieties and answering questions.
- Ensure availability of treatment information for the provider by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Collect co‑pays, reconcile credit cards and cash, tally the cash drawer, and prepare deposits.
- Complete prior authorization paperwork for insurance, fax communications for referrals, or perform similar administrative duties.
- Maintain front reception area in a clean and professional manner; restock office equipment and manage deliveries.
- Assist Medical Assistants with electronic medical record data entry by entering patient information and other required data; scan and upload forms as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients and their records and uphold HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 1–3 years of related professional experience in a medical office environment or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate degree in healthcare or a related field preferred. Must be proficient in the use of an electronic medical record system and strong technical expertise with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Pay Range: $/hr
