This position will be working in the Elections Division of the Property Records and Taxpayer Services Department at the County Government Center in Stillwater. We are looking for an energetic customer service skilled individual with multi-tasking abilities who works collaboratively with others. This position is part of the team administering elections, including preparation for elections, post-election responsibilities, and providing customer service to voters.

Duties will include administrative and direct work with election judges, including recruiting, hiring, communication, training, and other duties, work in an election judge management system database, and coordination of polling places.

DESIRABLE

EXPERIENCE:
  • Paid work experience in elections administration
  • Work experience providing customer service to the public (in-person and over the phone) in a fast-paced environment
  • Paid work experience performing administrative tasks, such as scheduling, drafting communications to groups, and verifying and editing documents for accuracy
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and work with specialized software
  • Work experience interpreting County, State, and Federal rules, regulations, statutes, and policies
  • Prior experience performing accurate data entry and manipulating existing data in a database
  • Experience researching, analyzing, and verifying records, reports, applications, and other documents
SELECTION TECHNIQUE:

Your training and experience will be rated based on the required application material submitted and the top scoring candidates will be forwarded to the hiring department for further consideration.

HOURS / DAYS:

40 hours per week, scheduled between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Some Saturday, Sunday, and evening hours will be required during election cycles. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE:

$21.53 - $29.26 Hourly

- Verify Participation. Washington County participates in the federal E-Verify program. This means that Washington County will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent. Prior experience with customer service, financial reporting, and database management is preferred.
