Position Overview

The Sales Insights and Analytics Director is responsible for driving insights, data analysis and reporting for MPG Emerging Channels (Value, Beauty, and Costco). Key to this role will be the ability to translate insights to actions to shape brand strategy, planning, and performance. This person will need to be proficient at qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies, insight generation, data interpretation, data reporting and analysis, strategic leadership and influencing across the Commercial organization, and communicating key insights and recommendations from an array of data points.

The Director will also play a key role in new business development, leveraging category, shopper, and retailer insights to unlock opportunities for MPG clients.

As a leader on the Emerging Channels team, this individual will be front and center in developing business insights, analyzing performance, and implementing strategic analytic structure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing insights and analytics team dedicated to the Value Channel.
  • Foster a culture of cross-team collaboration, innovation, and analytical excellence across MPG.
  • Provide focus and direction to successfully navigate complexity, uncertainty, and evolving retailer dynamics.
  • Lead analytics process and engagement with Costco and the Beauty Channel with the objective of deepening our analytics partnerships with these retailers and MPG clients.
  • Provide an objective viewpoint on business and customer insights based on in-depth understanding and analysis of market, customer, and consumer data.
  • Provide expertise on approaches to market research, customer insights, and analytics.
  • Partner with the relevant cross-functional stakeholders to generate strategic insights to inform and support business performance and planning.
  • Provide regular cadence of client & customer performance reporting with commentary on recommendations and opportunities.
  • Actively look for opportunities to bring in innovation, learnings, and best practices into team’s work.
  • Partner with the Emerging Channels Leadership team to drive analytics growth through data cost management and client investment recommendations
  • Excel at strategic agility, adapting team capabilities and resources to best meet the needs of internal and external customers; provide focus and direction to successfully navigate complexity, uncertainty, and ambiguity.
Required Experience And Education
  • 10+ years of experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods industry, with a focus on Value Channel preferred
