Position Summary

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing customer relationships and supporting sales growth within the produce distribution industry. This role builds strong and lasting partnerships with customers, develops a thorough understanding of their business needs, anticipates challenges, manages expectations, and collaborates internally to deliver solutions. The Sales Account Manager serves as a primary point of contact and customer advocate within the organization.

Location:

Minneapolis, MN – 100% onsite. No relocation assistance provided.

Essential Functions of the Role
  • Maintain daily communication with customers via phone and email
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, operations, and sales teams to plan and support customer needs
  • Manage inbound and outbound inventory schedules
  • Monitor customer trends and adjust processes to support account success
  • Present programs, promotions, and product opportunities to customers
  • Maintain accurate and timely pricing schedules
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting using internal systems and tools
  • Address and resolve customer concerns in a professional manner
  • Support continuous improvement of sales and service processes
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working with ERP or CRM systems
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales or account management experience
  • Experience in produce, food distribution, or wholesale environments preferred
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with Produce Pro or similar ERP systems
  • Bilingual skills preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to perform frequent data entry
  • Ability to communicate via phone and email throughout the workday
