The Sales Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership to the sales team by developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies that align with company goals. In this position, you will oversee the sales team and ensures consistent delivery on targets, customer acquisition, and market growth. does the Sales Director do at RVI?
  • Develop annual sales plan in alignment with organizational strategies and objectives
  • Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to Sales Managers and Account Executives
  • Establish performance metrics for the sales teams in collaboration with company leadership, and monitors sales team achievement of goals
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform sales strategies
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to set pricing, distribution, and strategies
  • Implement and refine sales policies, processes, and tools to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
  • Oversee and ensure effective use of CRM systems to track activities, generate insights, and support decision-making
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and strategic partners; participate in high-level sales engagements as needed
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and key customer meetings
  • Prepare and manage sales budgets and forecasts; report sales performance to senior leadership
What do we look for in a qualified Sales Director candidate?
  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive sales experience, including 3+ years in a sales leadership role
  • Experience in manufacturing, electronics, logistics, or a related industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing sales teams in a B2B environment
  • Strong business acumen with experience in strategic planning and execution
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and data-driven decision-making
  • Technologically proficient, with the ability to effectively utilize video conference platforms (e.g., Zoom) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) for daily operations and communication
  • Ability to interact at a management level with HR, Accounting, IT, Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering and Quality
  • Solid understanding of P&L statements with the ability to drive profitability
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%, primarily regionally, with occasional extended trips as required for key customer engagements and industry events
  • This position is based onsite and does not offer remote or hybrid arrangements
