Job Description
The Product Regulatory Specialist works closely with product development, supply chain, project management, marketing, and sales teams to ensure that lubricants marketed globally comply with all applicable regulations. This role supports product stewardship by managing regulatory documentation, validating compliance data, and assisting with global regulatory requirements related to GHS, USMCA, import/export regulations, REACH, and other regulatory frameworks. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, structured processes, and collaborating across multiple functions in a fast-paced, transparent, and learning-focused environment.
Responsibilities
+ Work closely with product development, supply chain, project management, marketing, and sales teams to ensure global compliance of lubricant products.
+ Review and approve industrial and consumer packaging to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
+ Manage internal and external product regulatory requests by assigning ownership, tracking progress, and updating status.
+ Organize, update, and control Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documents and records to ensure they are current and accessible.
+ Validate databases and information related to Proposition 65, Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), REACH, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
+ Maintain well-organized records that support quick and reliable retrieval of required regulatory information.
+ Prepare documentation to support and fulfill requests associated with USMCA and related trade compliance requirements.
+ Complete product and chemical classifications for shipping hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations.
+ Support new product development activities by providing regulatory guidance and ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
+ Actively participate in initiatives to improve regulatory processes, procedures, and documentation practices.
+ Perform other product stewardship and regulatory compliance functions as assigned.
+ Collaborate closely with a Product Regulatory Associate and broader regulatory team members as an individual contributor with ownership over specific accounts or regulatory processes.
+ Engage with internal and external stakeholders in a customer-facing capacity to address regulatory questions and support compliance initiatives.
+ Meet tight deadlines and handle stressful situations while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in all regulatory work.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
+ 2-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, chemical, or product compliance.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (Hazard Communication preferred), DOT/49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG; formal training in these areas is a plus.
+ Strong depth of international regulatory experience in regions such as Canada, Mexico, the European Union, and APAC.
+
Experience with hazardous materials (Haz Mat) regulations and classifications.
+
Experience with product registrations and compliance initiatives, including TSCA, Proposition 65, and PFAS-related requirements.

Skills & Qualifications
+ Smartsheet experience is a plus.
+ Experience working with global regulatory databases and systems is beneficial.
+ Prior experience in a hybrid work environment is helpful.
+ Interest in continuous learning and staying current with evolving regulatory requirements.
+ Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that values transparency and engagement.
Work Environment
This is a 4-month contract role supporting coverage for a leave, offering an opportunity to quickly step into a high-impact regulatory position. The standard schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with flexibility to start earlier (7:00 AM-4:00 PM) if preferred. The role follows a hybrid work model based at a New Hope, MN facility, with three days onsite (Tuesday-Thursday) and two days remote (Monday and Friday).
