As a Lead Program Manager, Planning Learning & Development, you will lead the strategy, design, and execution of learning programs that build Planning capabilities and accelerate business readiness. You will be the centralized owner of Planning onboarding, continuous learning, knowledge management, and modernization enablement, ensuring planners have the skills, resources, and support needed to successfully adopt new processes, technologies, and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement a comprehensive Planning Learning and Development ecosystem, including current programming assessment, learning strategy, program design, governance, and delivery.
- Lead Planning onboarding and learning programs by owning the end‑to‑end new hire experience, continuous learning strategy, and role readiness to accelerate time‑to‑productivity.
- Design and maintain scalable learning resources, including curriculum, SharePoint, playbooks, best practices, job aids, and documentation that evolve with Planning processes and technology.
- Enable Planning modernization by partnering with Product, Strategy, Operations, and cross‑functional business teams to develop and execute learning and change‑management strategies that drive adoption of new capabilities, systems, and ways of working, including key Planning transformation initiatives such as PlanIT Assortment and Financial Planning, Demand Planning, and the Global Assortment Operating Model.
- Partner across Planning to identify capability gaps, represent the Planner perspective in change initiatives, and equip leaders and mentors with the tools and resources needed to support their teams.
- Measure and continuously improve learning effectiveness through feedback, adoption metrics, and business outcomes, ensuring learning programs remain relevant, impactful, and aligned to organizational priorities.
- Represent Planning and total PIM in merchandising change, engagement and training alignment.
- Four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Merchandise Planning, with experience in Learning & Development, Program Management, Inventory Management, Organizational Enablement, or Change Management preferred.
- Strong understanding of Planning processes and business operations.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence without direct authority.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self‑directed with the ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and drive results.

Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement: the core role may be performed both onsite at the Target HQ location and virtually, depending on daily needs. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed.
