Inventory Analyst
We are seeking an Inventory Analyst to support the Baseball and Softball categories. This role will develop and manage product forecasts and inventory with a focus on accurate item‑level demand forecasting, using historical sales data and market intelligence, accounting for promotional lifts, and price elasticity.

About the PositionThe Inventory Analyst reports directly to the Lead Merchant and serves as the central hub for forecasting and planning. Responsibilities include continuous improvement of demand planning processes and providing business recommendations.
Responsibilities and Duties- Manage forecasting and planning activities for the assigned categories.
- Collaborate with Merchandising to create new and repeat product forecasts for catalog and eCommerce channels.
- Oversee demand and inventory planning from initial launch through the entire product lifecycle.
- Analyze actual sales vs. forecasted demand to drive process improvement.
- Issue purchase orders that adhere to department limits.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors and suppliers, setting clear expectations and following up regularly.
- Ensure attainment of Key Performance Indicators and goals such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, fill rate, aged inventory level, seasonal carry‑over, and open‑to‑buy.
- Utilize Hot Lists and other business intelligence tools to optimize service levels and inventory position.
- Identify opportunities to improve demand planning, dissect forecast errors, and enact corrective actions to meet accuracy goals.
- Maintain ERP system records, updating ship/expected dates, discontinued codes, inventory disposition, and more.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
- Two or more years of forecasting and demand planning experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel (filters, sorting, formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.) and BI tools such as Tableau.
- Strong analytical, business, and financial acumen.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present data to various audiences and influence decision-making.
- High ethical standards, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, self-driven attitude.
- Experience working in cross‑functional teams and fostering relationships internally and externally.
- Adaptability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
Salary Range: $62,147.00 – $85,357.00 (based on experience, qualifications, and market data).
