Under general supervision, plan, execute, and finalize projects according to deadlines and within budget. The Project Coordinator will collaborate with department leadership to complete identified project objectives, complete duties associated with purchases, contracts and staffing in SAP and SRM, and oversee quality control throughout the project life cycle. This may include acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.

- Coordinates planning and implementation of projects including scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents in coordination with department leadership.
- Assist in drafting budget proposals and recommend budget changes where necessary.
- Provide resource and participant estimates needed to achieve project goals.
- Coordinte project expectations with team members and other stakeholders; identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools; track project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations as needed for department leaders.
- Assist in the definition of project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle.
- Complete special projects as they are assigned.
- Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; promote a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
- Enthusiastically promote the Superintendent’s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records, and MPS information.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
- At times may be required to work outside normal business hours and work extended hours to accomplish requirements of the position.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines
Associate’s Degree in Business or Public Administration, or related field; AND three (3) years of administrative support experience, preferably with MPS; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.
Knowledge of:
- Applicable state and Federal rules and regulations governing public education.
- MPS administration policies, including accounting, budgeting, and personnel rules.
- Business and personal computers, and spreadsheet software applications.
- Customer service standards and protocols.
- Principles of record keeping, records retention, records management, and file maintenance.
- Local community resources and regional community issues.
