Enrollment Analytics Scientist

The Enrollment Analytics Scientist leads advanced analysis and modeling to support district enrollment strategy, student retention, recruitment efforts, and long-range planning by developing and maintaining enrollment projections, analyzing enrollment trends, and providing data-informed recommendations to guide budgeting, staffing, program planning, and school capacity decisions. Working collaboratively with enrollment, finance, and academic departments as well as district leadership, the coordinator integrates student information system data, state reporting data, and geographic analysis to support strategic decision-making.

The role emphasizes predictive analysis, geographic and demographic trends, and the development of tools that enable proactive enrollment management and sustainable district planning.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Analyzes enrollment patterns, mobility trends, retention rates, and recruitment outcomes to inform district enrollment strategies.
  • Develops analyses that support student recruitment, retention, and program access initiatives.
  • Identifies trends and patterns affecting enrollment across schools, grade levels, and student groups and provides recommendations to district leadership.
  • Supports development of strategies that stabilize or grow enrollment consistent with district priorities and community needs.
  • Develops and maintains multi-year enrollment projections used for budgeting, staffing, facility planning, and program development.
  • Applies cohort survival, regression, and other forecasting methodologies to project enrollment trends.
  • Collaborates with finance, state reporting, and district leadership to align enrollment projections with budget development and long-range planning.
  • Monitors projection accuracy and refines forecasting models based on emerging trends.
  • Uses GIS tools to analyze attendance boundaries, enrollment patterns, demographic trends, and geographic access to programs.
  • Produces maps and spatial analyses to support planning decisions, boundary discussions, and recruitment strategies.
  • Integrates geographic data with enrollment and demographic data to support strategic planning and communication.
  • Extracts, manages, and analyzes student-level data from the Student Information System and related data systems.
  • Utilizes state reporting data and enrollment-related datasets to support analysis and planning.
  • Develops analytical tools, reports, and visualizations that support enrollment monitoring and decision-making.
  • Works collaboratively with IT and data teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Works with Enrollment Services staff, school leaders, and district departments to understand enrollment trends and data needs.
  • Presents enrollment analyses, projections, and recommendations to district leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates complex analytical findings in a clear and actionable manner to non-technical audiences.
  • Manages multiple analytical and planning projects simultaneously.
  • Establishes timelines, coordinates stakeholders, and ensures timely completion of enrollment analyses and reports.
  • Supports continuous improvement of enrollment analysis processes and forecasting methods.
  • Promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, records and MPS information.
  • Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as-needed basis.

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in statistics, data analytics, geography, economics, public policy, education, or a related quantitative field; and five (5) years of professional experience in data analysis, enrollment analysis, planning, or related work, including experience working with student information system data or other large administrative datasets, using R, Python, or another programming language for data analysis, and using GIS software or other spatial analysis tools;

or a PhD in a related field plus three (3) years of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by Human Resources.
