Summary:

Our internship in Minneapolis is designed for candidates who are sales oriented and interested in sales or management. Our 10-12 week internship is paid and will provide candidates a working knowledge of the electrical wholesale industry by exposing them to all aspects of the electrical distribution field through a combination of mentoring and on-the-job training. The program requires a strong commitment from each participant and encompasses, but is not limited to, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, counter sales, sales and interpersonal skills, customer relations and CED business philosophy.

Our interns will have the opportunity to work on special projects such as market sales or customer analysis, as well as, other projects custom designed by the management team and the intern. Managers will make an effort to provide structure, but internship objectives will be adjusted based on real business needs and the interests and abilities of the successful candidate(s).

At least 50% of time will be spent in the warehouse setting. Ideal candidates will desire a future full time position in sales/management. Work during the school year is a possibility depending on schedule, but this position is primarily designed as a summer experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ Current, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

+ Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future)

+ Pursuing a 4-year degree (business related preferred) with anticipated graduation by June, 2028

+ Strong, effective communication in English (spoken and written)

+ Regular and consistent attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Strong negotiation skills

+ Sales experience

+ Experience working in a blue collar and/or warehouse setting

+ Comfortable working at least 50% of the time in a warehouse setting

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software

+ Detail oriented

+ Ability to solve problems

+ Must be a self-starter who can handle a heavy volume of work and be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time

Working Conditions:

Conditions vary based on the intern's current segment of the training and will include warehouse, office and external environments.  During some segments, activities will include lifting, sorting, standing, possible extreme heat/cold conditions.  Office segments may include sitting for extended periods.

Compensation Range:

The compensation range for this position is $19 to $21 hourly.
