As a Student Support Youth Camp Assistant
, you'll play a vital role in supporting children with and without needs, staff, and families during our summer Youth Camps program. This position will support students and staff at Meadow Ridge, Central Middle School, and Gleason Lake, depending on needs. If you're enthusiastic, organized, and love fostering positive experiences for kids, this position is for you!
- Supervise and Support:
Provide support to students with needs, assisting them in classes. Guide and oversee large groups of children in classrooms, hallways, playgrounds, and lunchrooms, encouraging peaceful conflict resolution and maintaining a harmonious environment. - Ensure Safety:
Direct student movement safely between activities, monitor attendance, and ensure a secure atmosphere. - Lead
Activities:
Organize and supervise engaging group games and activities. - Collaborate and Assist:
Work closely with staff to implement behavior plans, support classroom and lunchroom setups, and assist with cleanup. - Build Relationships:
Greet families warmly, answer questions, and address concerns with care and professionalism. - Maintain Equipment:
Oversee outdoor play equipment and report any safety hazards promptly.
- Ability to supervise and connect with children in a positive and supportive manner.
- Experience working with children with needs.
- A knack for anticipating and responding to changing situations calmly and effectively.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and families.
- Attention to safety, including identifying potential risks and addressing them appropriately.
