The Safety Coordinator is an entry‑level position responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of safety programs on commercial construction projects. This role works closely with the Site Safety Manager, project teams, field leadership, and the corporate safety department to promote Knutson’s Zero Incident Safety Culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Field Safety Support- Assist with daily jobsite safety inspections and hazard identification.
- Support project teams with implementation and enforcement of site‑specific safety plans.
- Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre‑task plans, and toolbox talks.
- Observe work activities and coach employees and subcontractors on safe work practices.
- Maintain a visible field presence to reinforce safe work practices.
- Assist with new hire and subcontractor safety orientations.
- Support delivery and tracking of required safety training programs.
- Assist with and facilitate tool‑box talks.
- Help maintain training records and documentation.
- Assist with OSHA regulations & logs, and company policy compliance efforts.
- Promote employee engagement by supporting incident, near‑miss, and hazard reporting processes.
- Help prepare and maintain safety documentation, logs, and reports.
- Participate in incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
- Support company‑wide safety initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist with PPE programs, safety audits, and inspections.
- Help analyze safety data and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
- Promote a culture of accountability by encouraging safe behaviors and reinforcing corrective actions in the field.
- Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field staff.
- Serve as a positive safety role model on jobsites.
- Promote open communication regarding safety concerns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in construction safety or construction field experience.
- Internship or co‑op experience in commercial construction or safety a plus.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general construction safety practices.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration with employees across numerous functions.
- Ability to adapt and train on evolving safety techniques and technology.
- Ability to work in active construction environments and travel to jobsites as required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe).
Ability to walk jobsites often on uneven terrain, climb ladders or stairs, and work in varying weather conditions. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to travel to assigned project sites.

Projected Minimum Base Salary per year $70,000
Projected Maximum Base Salary per year $90,000
